Long Beach Computer Club (California) collected food for seniors at Member Appreciate meeting

The November meeting featured dinner with three turkeys and all the trimmings as well as a special raffle for those bringing canned goods to the meeting.

This year’s community service project was the collecting of non-perishable food items for seniors and those less fortunate. For each item donated, one raffle ticket was issued for either the regular or special raffle which consisted of an inkjet printer, MAC laptop with OS/X, Aluminum computer case, 4 gig flash drives and a surprise or two. Thanks to the members, a pick-up truck full of food was donated to a local agency.

Community Computer Club of La Verne collects toys

The Community Computer Club of La Verne again collected toys for their local fire department’s toy drive. They beat last year’s toy total and had an additional $60 donated for toys at their Christmas party. The total this year was $1,250 worth of toys and is awesome for their little club. Members who donated toys (minimum of $10) were given a raffle ticket for the two prizes: Canon photo printer and Epson all-in-one printer. The food was wonderful, a good time was had by all and there were wonderful sides brought in by the members. And almost everyone went home with a bag of fried chicken for dinner.

TUGNET collects socks for MEND at their holiday party

The club furnished special treats and everyone bringing socks received a ticket for a special drawing. The new socks are for children, women or men; they go to MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity) and are badly needed. Who’d want to be without socks in this weather! They saw bits of the December Special Edition CD and some pictures from the Imaging SIG’s trip to the fantastic Light Show at Griffith Park.
