Hilton Head Island Computer Club has found a new way of distributing monthly newsletters. They have created a bulletin board with different levels of access depending on the status of the reader: non-member, member, Board member, etc. Called the HHICC, the Bulletin Board is very professionally done, with a wealth of information to be found.
Lee Alexander of Macon Users Group wrote a very informative article on beginning photography for novices. It would make a great class or SIG for any group. See the article at http://www.maconusersgroup.org/Dig_Photography.html.
The Huntsville Personal Computer Users Group noted in their newsletter that they will feature two speakers for the month of June; Ron Schmitz, President of HPCUG, will lead a discussion on the problems with Microsoft’s operating system Vista, and a demonstration by Andy Karabinos, a past HPCUG President, on developing a presentation using Power Point and the free program, Impress.
The Gwinnet SeniorNet PC Users Group’s May program was presented by Mike Gammie from MicroCenter in Duluth. He gave a very interesting program on Ripping, Editing and Burning CDs featuring the software program “Spin It Again”. Using a turntable, which Microcenter generously donated as a door prize, he demonstrated recording from an old vinyl record and showed how to use the software.
Tellico Village Computer Users Club’s program for the May meeting was a presentation by Howard Jones on “Backing Up Your Computer”. In that presentation Howard covered What to backup!, When to backup!, and How to backup!.
