Linux Hosting
by OLS Committee

The Online Web Service Committee has created a Linux sub-group which is working on the following plan

The members include Bryan Rodgers, Clint Tinsley, Rob Limbaugh, and Jim Scharoun. The plan is to have a hosted computer running virtual computers. The host server will be running CentOS 5.x.

In the virtual image would be the following built with the following services installed

1. Apache web server

2. SSH shell

3. FTP service

4. Word Press (Blogging)

5. Gallery (photo gallery software)

6. Image Magick or GD Image (photo editing program)

7. mySQL (database)

8. Drupal with Drupal plug-in ‘CiviCRM’ (a Share point type product)

9. PHP

But the Team need your help, please send a list of what else you want on the server if your group wants to host using Linux. Send you mail to OLSL@apcug.net, with your wish list. When the OLS committee gets the full list they will then create the Virtual Master image the each user group can run on our hosted server.
