APCUG 2007 Newsletter Contest

The 2007 APCUG Newsletter Contest attracted 41 groups that submitted their newsletters. Their newsletters were very professional and were a source of great ideas and great information for anyone reading them.

They were divided into three groups. Those groups with <100 members were the small groups. Those groups with >100 members and <300 members were placed in the medium group. Those with >300 were placed in the large group. Congratulations to the winners shown below:

Small Groups (<100)

1st Place – Topeka PC Users Club, Topeka, KS
2nd Place – Phoenix PC User Group, Phoenix, AZ
3rd Place – Amador Computer Users Group, Pine Grove, CA
Honorable Mention — Big Bear Computer Club, Big Bear City, CA
Honorable Mention - PC Users Group of Connecticut, Milford, CT
Honorable Mention - Horizon Computer Users of Erie, Erie, PA

Medium Groups (>100 & <300)

1st Place – Mid Hudson Computer User Group, Inc, Poughkeepsie, NY
2nd Place – Tie - Danbury Area Computer Society, Danbury, CT
2nd Place – Tie - PC Community, Hayward, CA
3rd Place – Twin Cities PC User Group, Bloomington, MN
Honorable Mention – Lake Sumter Computer Society, Leesburg, FL
Honorable Mention - Space Coast Users Group, Inc, Cocoa, FL

Large Groups (>300)

1st Place – Tucson Computer Society, Tucson, AZ
2nd Place – Brookdale Computer Users Group, Red Bank, NJ
3rd Place – Channel Islands PC Users Group, Ventura, CA
Honorable Mention – Manatee Personal Computer User Group, Bradenton, FL
Honorable Mention - Hilton Head Island Computer Club, Hilton Head Island, SC

There were a total of 41 groups that entered the Newsletter Contest this year. Judging them was a real task for the judges. In some the scores were only hundredths of a point apart.

Thank you for taking the time to do the extra effort for entering the contest.

All participants received a certificate of appreciation that was presented at the convention. It was mailed out after the Convention to those who were unable to pick them up at the Convention.
1st Place winners received a large plaque.
2nd Place winners received a medium plaque.
3rd Place winners received a small plaque.

I encourage everyone to begin planning now to enter the 2008 contest.
