Potential sponsors are being asked to support the APCUG 2008 Convention by participating in a selection of activities. These activities include the top “Platinum” sponsorship, which consists of a top contribution in support for the Jerry Awards (community service), a meal or other VIP event, participation in the Vendor Fair, tech sessions, banner displays, and a variety of other premium benefits. At past conventions, some of the biggest names in computer software and hardware have supported APCUG in this manner and at this level.
Other levels of premium sponsorship include Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels which instill substantial benefits upon the vendor. Smaller companies that lack the fiscal ability to be a major sponsor have the opportunity to selectively participate in the Vendor Fair, as a Welcome Bag participant, Proceedings sponsor with paid advertisements, and other beneficial opportunities. Vendors may also choose to sponsor any of the APCUG 2008 competitive events, including the Newsletter Contest, Website Contest, Photo Contest, and the Jerry Awards for Community Service. At past conventions, some vendors also sponsored the hospitality suite, tech sessions, wireless internet connectivity, polo shirts, and other mutually beneficial activities. All potential vendors are also welcome to support the “Friends of APCUG”.
There are still many sponsorship opportunities available for the 2008 Convention. For those interested in assisting the Alliances Committee by submitting information on any additional potential vendor contacts, or other possible supporters of the Convention, please contact the Committee at alliances@apcug.net.
