Spotlight on CCOKC
http://www.ccokc.org/

We are a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization of around 1200 members, with the goal of teaching each other more about using and enjoying their personal computers for business and pleasure. The sole purpose of the organization is reflected in its motto, “Computer Users Helping Computer Users.” The members of the CCOKC consist of many different professions, ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience. The CCOKC prides itself on the principle of “members helping members.” Many participants in the Users Group say that their primary reason for being a member of the club is for the purpose of making personal contacts with other computer users.

Monthly Meetings

The general membership meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month in Resource Center of the Computer Club of OKC. All members and visitors are invited to meet and participate in an informative presentation about personal computers. The presentations are usually made by representatives of the major vendors within the industry. The meeting also provides an opportunity to discuss common interests with other members and to make computer related purchases.

Study Groups

Study Groups also meet monthly to discuss a variety of subjects. They cover such topics as programming languages, telecommunications, beginning user needs, and popular software programs. Dates of individual Study Groups and times they meet are listed on web site www.ccokc.org.

SeniorNet Affiliation

CCOKC has an active Senior group affiliated with SeniorNet. This group enjoys weekly meetings, SrNet Learning Center courses, and the Ambassador Support Programs.
