Publicity Ideas
by Don Singleton, APCUG President

It used to be that both the Computer and Technology Showcase (http://www.techshows.com/events.html) and ITEC (http://home.goitec.com/itec/events/Home.htm) had computer shows in many different cities (we used to have both in Tulsa, each once a year), but I see both have really gone down hill. When they had them, we could usually get a free booth because we were non-profit 501(c)(3), and that was a very good opportunity to put some newsletters and other information about the UG on the table, and have volunteers staff the table. Tulsa also has a monthly computer show (http://www.computershowok.com/), and we have been offered a free table at it as well.

You might check your area and see if there are any technology shows or computer swap meets or computer shows where people buy in bulk and rent a table to sell parts at a discount, because if you can get a free table you can pass out newsletters and other info about your group.
