I have spent over 40 years working in information technology from main frames to PCs, which has included working as a developer - systems analyst, project manager and system integrator. I own my own consulting company, Linda Moore & Associates. Just as keeping your skill set on the leading edge keeps the gigs coming your way, this is also true for user groups. Change and computers have always gone hand in hand or else we would still be using typewriters and adding machines.
Bill was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has lived there all his life. Bill attended college in Oklahoma & hoped to complete a degree in music -- but was interrupted by the Vietnam War. I have been a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Computer Club in California for 18 years; 15 of those years in an executive position. I am also the Editor of the DATALINE. For the last three years, I have scheduled vendor tours for local user groups that meet the 2nd week of the month (4 groups) and the 4th week of the month (5 groups). Other user group experience includes co-facilitating SCRUGS (Southern California Regional User Group Summit), a group of 24 UGs in southern California that have been meeting quarterly for over 10 years to share ideas, problems, speakers, etc. I have been involved for 13 years with the Southwest User Group Conference held in San Diego; the last nine as co-chair. I have attended APCUG's annual conference since the early '90s and currently hold the following positions in APCUG: Chair, Board of Advisors; Region 11 Advisor; Chair, Editorial PUSH Committee; Chair, Benefits & Services Committee. I teach adult education computer classes and have been having fun lately making presentations at local user groups.
I'm currently serving as a Director and Program Chair for the Temecula Valley group. I'm also the APCUG representative. For the last two years I've been an active Advisor for APCUG. I've been to several regional conferences and the APCUG conferences where I've been involved as a speaker, facilitator, and all around volunteer. I frequently present to various groups throughout Southern California on various topics including PowerPoint, FrontPage, and Windows Mobile devices. I would like to continue to promote User Groups and encourage growth in membership. I'm a high school teacher in Corona, California and currently teach both math and computer classes. Thank you for your support.

Barbara has been active with the Tokyo PC Users Group for at least 6 years. She got interested in using PCs in the late 80's, when some men in white coats deposited one on her desk, plugged it in and then ran away. When she moved to Tokyo in 1992 the PC became an imperative tool to use so that she could keep in contact with friends and family in the US. Later, she learned to shop online. . .
I am a retired aerospace electronics test engineer/manager. I have worked with computers, from the day-to-day word processing tasks to the automated design and control of testing of Space Craft. I have served as Treasurer and Membership Chairman in the past and am presently the Vice President, Programs for the Seniors Computer Group in San Diego, CA. I also teach classes on Computer skills two evenings a month in the community. I love being able to help my neighbors learn to use their computers. I also enjoy helping them resolve problems with their computers. I have worked with volunteer organizations for over 50 years doing organizational and administrative work. I have a clear recollection of my first PC purchase. It was a 386 DX something or other with a 40 Mb hard drive. The local computer store where I bought it had not received delivery of the monitor so they arranged it so that I could make the trip from Sarasota to the distributor in Tampa (70 miles) and get it so that I could play with my new toy over the weekend. Luckily for me, I came across an announcement in our local paper about an organization where regular folks learned and shared information about how to use their computers. I became a member of the Sarasota PC Users Group in 1993, soon after my family decided to relocate from Long Island, New York. It wasn’t long before the Volunteer Bug bit me and I became a member of our Shareware Library Committee. I’ve always found leading SIGs to be very rewarding and I do so whenever my time permits. I was first elected Director in 1995 and have served for 10 years on our Board as Secretary, Vice-President and President. When I would lead the New Member Orientation for SPCUG I would always mention that when I first joined, on a scale of 1-10, considering I knew how to hit the power button, I was a solid 1. I now consider myself an 8 and attribute that to my involvement in SPCUG. It was sometime in 1995 that my friend Gary Schweinshaupt encouraged me to attend the Florida Association of Computer User Groups (FACUG) Annual Conference. I guess that he saw something about my dedication to SPCUG that led him to believe that our organization would benefit by my involvement at the regional level and I hope he was correct. I returned from my first conference with a renewed level of enthusiasm and many new ideas. I became an FACUG Director in 1998 and was proud to serve as Vice-President and President before I left the Board in 2005. Amongst my proudest accomplishments are Dave “Bytes”, the e-newsletter I have produced for SPCUG, Computers & You, the TV program I created and hosted for 5 years and now the “Bits & Bytes” Computer radio show which has worked wonders in promoting User Groups to our community. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY; married with 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
